What is an Icon™ laser?
The Icon laser is a powerful aesthetics tool. At Magic Valley Family Practice, Drew uses a variety of different Icon handpieces — including the MaxR™, MaxG™, MaxYs™, and 1540 — to help his patients achieve their aesthetic goals.

How does the Icon laser work?
Icon laser is a versatile technology that can be applied in different ways, depending on your aesthetic goal. Below are a few examples of what the various attachments and handpieces do.
ICON MAXR FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL
The Icon MaxR is designed for permanent hair removal. It works by sending laser energy into the hair follicles you want to target, heating them until they’re permanently destroyed and can no longer produce hair. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve your desired results, but hair removal is permanent.
ICON MAXG FOR PHOTOFACIALS
IPL photofacials help you achieve smooth, even, clear skin. The MaxG sends light energy into your unwanted dark spots, redness, and other imperfections. These imperfections absorb energy and break up. You’ll see them begin to appear on the surface of your skin with a texture similar to coffee grounds. As spots flake off, you’ll see clearer, more evenly toned skin.
ICON MAXYS FOR SUN DAMAGE AND HAIR REMOVAL
The MaxYs is a versatile tool. It permanently removes hair and works similarly to the MaxR. It can also remove sun damage by breaking up the dark spots the same way the MaxG does.
ICON 1540 FOR SCARRING, STRETCH MARKS, AND FINE LINES
If you have acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, or fine lines and wrinkles, the Icon 1540 can turn back the clock, restoring an even texture and tone to your skin.
